Alex G. those numbers DO vary from state to state. I can't quote them, but seems like I remember Iowa has quite a few crossbow hunters % wise, like triple or even more that what we have % wise here in Arkansas.

Regardless, never has allowing them been a negative.

Think back to when compounds were so hotly debated. Manufacturers WANTED them in, of course, and the bowhunters at that time (called "traditional" now) fought tooth and nail to keep them out for exactly the same reasons we see compounders arguing today against crossbows.

So anyway, compounds WERE allowed, and they've revolutionized bowhunting like nobody ever expected. Even the great P&Y club has no credibility anymore after caving to the releases and sights, and letoff's etc
