I think the chances of them being reintroduced in Iowa somewhere between slim and none with the meter being real close to the none. Reasons DNR would give:
1. Impact on crops;
2. With the # of car - deer incidents as high as they are here, bringing in a larger game would cause more accidents especially along the I80/I35 corridors; and
3. There are no large tracts of land where the elk could propulgate.
