Default RE: Any Central Texas hunters out there?

Up until this year I was hunting a lease just outside Evant near Izoro. I am simply amazed at the deer population around there. Unfortunately, the head guy at the lease I was on was a real jacka$$ and wasn' t too thrilled that I was a hunter who was looking to tag out and really hunt so I was asked to leave. [:' (] Best deer lease I have ever been on. They all wanted to go sit in their box blinds and overlook their feeder and shoot the first buck that came along. Most of them would never even take a doe, so the population was quite skewed. I at least got me a real nice 10 point before having to leave. I was also doing my part to take care of the doe population as well.

In regards to your question, I think oats are the number one fall attractant. I have seen the deer pass up clover and such to get to the oats in seasons past.
