i have found some good results with spinner baits this year as well, but a swimming jig has produced very well for me. A simming jig is basically a jig that has a more pointed aerodynamic head, almost identical to that of a spinner bait, with a differnt eylet angle usually. However, you can swim any jig. I usually do a slow to moderate retrieve, much like a chatterbait, and bring it through the weeds while raising or lowering the rod when coming to weed edges. You usually put a single tail, twin tail grub, or a split tail as a trailer. One swim jig that I use a lot looks very similar to a blue gill, and it does pretty well for me. I'll see if I can get a picture posted for you. The following swim jig has the double wire weed guard. When the swim bite isnt on, I simply change the trailer to a craw/chunk and use it as I would a regular jig.
