The best tricks for growing any food plot are the same. Know your soil, especially the pH, and match your planting to the soil. Lime before planting, if you need it, and work it into the soil. Prepare a clean seed bed, and plant when conditions favor your seed. Control your weeds after planting as well (mowing and/or spray), and fertilize your crop according to a soil test.
