This dog isn't holding a point, it goes in wagging it's tail and notices the bird and then freezes watching it just like a coyote would a fawn. This dog either saw it move or heard it move and paused like any predator would including a cat waiting to pounce on it.

Turn up your volume and you can hear the handler whoa the dog into the "point" and then whoa him again a few seconds later. Clearly a case such as I posted where the Lab is whoa broke and then appears to be pointing.


You never see the bird? Why??? This video would be the best of the three if the camera would have zoomed out so you could see what was in front of the dog. Then I wouldn't wonder if someone was giving hand direction from out of view of the cam and then posting this to say their lab points naturally. The closest this video comes to proving your "point" is at the end but the dog isn't in a locked Point, it is in a position to spring onto whatever it is in front of him, this isn't a true point.

I'll have to see your dog in action.
