because the '08 has already been necked to; .243, .260, 7mm-08, .308, .338, .358

the .270 is right in between the 260 and 7mm-08, the .277 and .284(7mm) are essentially the same diameter, .007 difference? could be argued that both the 260 and 7mm-08 are better options than a 270-08 would be.

how fast would a .223-08 be? but I suppose the .22-250 and .220swift are already plenty fast. I believe the 7mm-08 is much more popular than the .260, the .308 is a classic, I think with the .243, 7mm08, 308, and 338 those 4 are all we really need the 08 necked to.

also the .270win. already exists, and now we have a .270wsm, so many options out there now.

In my opinion we really have no need for a .270-08, hopefully they won't standardize it either, but that's just my opinion.
