Did I miss what these were shot in, was it a rifle? Did the shooter actually know the rate of stated twist of barrel that was used in the lead sled?

The last AP I burned was in a barrel of 55 gal size, no rifling, open top with many air vent holes. 1/4 of a container in original container, It made a nice cloud of smoke.
