Default New to New York State and Hunting in NYS

We just reloated to the Fingerlakes Region of Western Upstate New York from down South in Georgia. Being an avid Bowhunter and Muzzleloader I am interested in hunting opportunites in this area. However, I hear that I have to take a ' Bowhunter Safety Course' ? and also take a ' New York Hunters Safety Course' ?

I was not required to have hunters safety in Georgia because of my age yet took it anyway with my teenaged daughter. Do I have to take another one here? or is my Georgia Hunters Safety Certificate good in New York?

Georgia also does not require a Bowhunter Safety Course at all. Can someone tell me about this as it is totally new to me. Where would I take it? When is it offered? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance... replies -- by BBS or by e-mail are appreciated.
