Adding one more point to the scoring possibillities led to far more ties. Plus archers who shot well were pushed out of placing without shooting a single 8 or five. ( it happens)
An 8 can be as far out off center as 16" and a 5 can be 3 1/2' off center or more. Who was more consistant or better shot?
I also understand that if you shoot 10s and not x' syou are still not in the center of the target. If you want to give out extra points for being in the center put in a golf tee and give him the extra point.
