You can get a mercury recoil suppressor put in the stock.
Spreads out the recoil so it is not such a jolt. Greatly reduces felt recoil.
Much better than a muzzle break. I took mine off my 300 win mag and have never put it back on. It is not worth the abuse your ears take even with hearing protection.
The mercury suppressor does the job. My 300 win feels about like a 30-06, it is also a 7 1/2 pound rifle with a good recoil pad.
