It all depends on what budget you have. I've used the lower end electronic calls like the Prey Master Didgital caller with success and a call by Game Tracks game calls. Game tracks hold lots of sounds, its not difficult to operate and more than enough volume. But I still have my mouth calls handy-at times the've made a difference. The majority of the time I hunt with a friend here in northeast Ohio. One with a rifle and one with a shotgun just because of the terrain. We've had coyote's on top of us before you know it and the shotgun is just more practical. As for decoys, I've had them work and not. I've used rabbit pelts, turkey feathers even those furry wind socks you see on a camera mic. Anything in which I think you can get a little movement from is good, this will get his attention and away from you. In more open country where you can see them coming it's not as important because you have a little better advantage, especially from an elevated position. But don't miss, cause you just made a smart critter smarter. And playing the wind, scent control and good Camo is essential. Good Hunting
