I have a Ruger M-77 chambered in 300-win mag with a Leupold Vari.X-II 3x9x40mm scope. I have owned this rifle for close to 25-years, I have never been scoped.
I will giving this rifle to a friends son when he is old enough to handle the recoil.
I will continue hunting with my 270-Winchester and my 340-Weatherby.
The 270-Winchester is my Deer/Antelope rifle.
The 340-Weatherby is my Elk/Bear rifle.

Your gun collection is starting to have calibers that overlap each other. You could sell your 30-06 and 7mm and hunt everything with the 300-win mag and 270-winchester.
