My apologies, for some reason when I saw your post my mind said S&W MP15-22!

I shoot IDPA with a couple guys that own MP 15s and I’ve seen a few run in a couple carbine classes I’ve taken. As a matter of fact one of our local instructors that teaches LE classes uses one. I’ve yet to see one have an issue.

As RR said, they’re basically a parts gun, as most are, but I do think S&W takes the time to put theirs together right. They’ve also got a pretty good service dept should something go wrong.
