I hadn't even considered using a .22 mag lever gun. I was thinking bigger bore rifles, such as a .44 mag, .44-.40, or a .35 remington. How well does the .22 mag put them down? And does it create any pass throughs, as that is my biggest concern. I don't need a bullet goin through and ricocheting and hitting my dog on a fluke. I have heard of guys loosing dogs that way.
