Sorry for the extremely late reply been pretty busy the last few months. At the time they had not seen a hog, but they had bayed all sorts of squirrels in my backyard. As of Springbreak back in March they saw their first hogs. I took them on a 10 hr trip to South Texas back to the place where I bought them (I really liked the lady that we bought them from and she has been an extremely big help to me in gettin them started as these are my first two hog dogs.)

We took them and put them in a 6 acre enclosure and let three hogs into it because she wanted to see just how instinctive they were. At this time they had never seen a hog. Right off the bat my brothers dog cornered a pig and went to bayin, the pig rushed him and he turned around and got caught right in the butt and got his first cut. He turned around and took off after that hog light I'd lit a fire underneath him.(After that he never did turn his back on a pig the rest of the day.) My dog was a little more cautious but after awhile he picked up on what was goin on and when any of the older dogs would find a bay a pig he would jump in there too.

It was probably the happiest moment of my year to watch those two dogs work! The lady we bought them from is going to get them both fully started and almost finished for me for a very fair price I think. Lookin forward to joinin the ranks of the rest of y'all hog doggers sometime in September!
