I put out a small salt/mineral lick. consisted of a 50# bag a trace, a couple small salt blocks, a couple small apple blocks. Dug up the area mixed it with the dirt, and made it about a 5' patch 5-6" deep. Put the cam on it and have deer coming into it sniff around and leave the area.
Due to some heavy rains and this particular area flooding from the creek nearby do you think this may have anything to do with them not being so interested, the lick is still very visible with trace apleanty. I would think it would be nothing different than a few days of heavy rain.
I see on some posts it mentions deer arent really attracted to these until late April, could these be the case?
Just looking for suggestions as this is my first "real" lick besides just sticking a big block on the ground.
