Suggest you consider a used bow to get the best value for your money, preferably a recurve. Excalibur bows carry a lifetime warranty that is honored for used bow. I also prefer a scope to red dod, bought a new Hawke MAP scope made just for crossbows for under $70.
i think cossack is right on with looking for a use one see what you can get first be for you get Horton Explorer you may fine a good deal out there . i would try to fine a use Excalibur to me just so ez to use you can take your string off and on with out going to your bow shop and a string is about 15.00 dollars you cant beat this bow but it you cant fine one i would look for a Tenpoint or parker all great bows good luck
