Loner-My earlier made howa was sold under the smith and wesson name and the trigger would adjust to 3 lbs.Newer howas only seem to adjust down to 5 lbs or so as I have adjusted a few.You would not want a trigger under 2 for safety reasons.As to the 300wby dropping in their tracks,it is a good cartridge but is in no way any type of magic cartridge that always drops any animal in it' s tracks.There is no cartridge built that will always do this especially since no shooter can always place his bullet exactly where he would like to every time.
