Sounds like a great experience. If you and your daughter can get that close to 'em with any regularity, you'll have a lot of success.
It reminds me of an incident from a few years ago on a goose shoot in Sask, Can. Low lying fog covered the field , and we could heard the geese above us, but not see them. Not see them until, the came through the fog at 10-15yds. One small flight was very vocal and one goose answered every call thrown at them. When they busted through, all I noticed was the light reflected in their eyes. I sat there and watched the majestic animals fly over, never even thought about firing a shot.
