I ended up changing the #11 nipple to a musket cap nipple. It is much more easier to manipulate in the woods for a reload.
I went just the opposite and use #11 mag caps, but i use a capper to handle the loading so I never even touch the cap... The #11's are a bit more water resistant for me also... as they fit tighter and do not fall off the nipple. I use to squeeze the musket caps to keep them tighter but that even allows more moisture wicking ability.

I know it is not the traditional way but I really preder to use T7-3f in my side locks... They shoot it very clean and with a #11 cap. It is much faster and easier to re-cap a #11 than unscrewing the mag-spark insterting a 209 and then re-screwing the mag-spark back together again.

Just me! - so each to their own...
