I've got two Wildgame cameras and one EZ Cam. I have only taken the Wildgame camera apart and it would be real easy to pull the connector from the battery source and make one that would connect directly to a 12v garden battery. Did you connect your EZ Cam with the barrel plug? You said that Wildviews are made to reduce the voltage, that could be because they have and exteranl source available. I don't see and external source for the Wildgame. I wonder if it would damage the camera if I hook up 12v to it?
