I always say used guns are a good value, but at the same time I think you always take a bit of a chance with a used semi-auto. I've had problems with the Marlin Mod. 60, and others. In some instances you can say the same about a NEW one. My first SA .22 was a Rem. Mod. 552, NIB. Jammed all the time.

If you buy used, get it from someone you can find if it turns out to be a dud.

I've never fired the Marlin 795, but have given a bunch away as door prizes at gun shows. I think it retails for about $140, and right now Marlin has a $25 rebate.

I've got a used Win. Mod. 290 up on gunbroker, with a scope. Test fired fine. Check it out, I'm user USMC1978.
