Crackers, Bucknasty, Vapor Trails, Winners Choice...there are a lot of good strings out there. Check them all out and see which ones fit your price range...and yes good strings make a big difference. Generally they last longer and do not stretch as much.
A string stop stops the string at the same spot consistently providing a cleaner release/shot. It also quiets the bow without adding any weight to the string.
