Screwbolts the real problem with the 700 is really not the breech plug/nipple. Making a decent breech plug nipple combination is not a problem at all. Either of the the two conversions coming out of Canada can be made to work and work well. The problem is in the false bolt and hammer that is found in the Remington. It really is not a bolt, the ATF made sure of that when Remington started making the gun. The had to radically redesign the bolt operation so that the gun could not be converted to a center fire.
To fix the Remington you need to fix the bolt. It needs to be converted to a real firing pin and have a bolt face.
