From all the posts Ive shown that Ive followed just about every move theyve made for years now,...and in depth.... what on earth would lead you to believe i wouldnt be aware of pgcs mission statement???..Which has nothing to do with anything being discussed anyway??
Corny, you're right, you certainly follow them closely and I was not trying to insult your intelligence and understanding in my post. I was not referring to their mission statement, however, I was referring to the constitutional amendment that requires they manage all wildlife. And I do think it is very relevant because the way the pgc manages the deer herd will always be in the context of managing the entire ecosystem.
I couldnt care less who foots the bill, though perhaps pgc should... Aside from that, 1. we are stakeholders just like the others but are the only ones currently ignored. 2. we are the management tool itself! That has to count for something. To ignore both is nothing but pure irresponsibility. Especially when all it is doing is causing HUGE levels of disgust & distrust with hunters towards the agency. Not a good situation period. And pgc can easily fix it. Fact is, they dont care.
Whether or not our (hunters) voice is totally ignored is probably debatable, but I would lean towards it being ignored. And I definitely agree that being the management tool should count for something...it should count for a lot actually, we don't get the recognition we deserve. But if a hunter phones the pgc and wants 1000 dpsm, I think he should be ignored. We need to meet them somewhere in the middle, or eventually we wont be the management tool.
