i would love a mathews bow. but i can't afford one just yet. my AR shoots just fine. took down a decent 8pt at 42 yards in november. i didn't finish on top of my bow league, but i did finish on top of numerous mathews owners. just my 2 cents.

as far as getting a good bow and dishing out a lot of money, you don't need to dish out $1000 for a brand new bare bow.

I would suggest you get a complete setup used bow if you want a mathews. however, its a better learning experience if you start off bare. Ross makes a good mid range priced bow.
