Default Re-Roberts report

I went back to the range today to retest some loads. I was getting 2649 from my 115 grain Nosler ballistic tips. I added one grain of powder and went to a ww Mag primer. I am now at 2794 fps. Thet read 2771, 2779, 2786 and 2809. I loaded some 100 grain Barnes X bullets as well. They read out 3134, 3137, 3132 and 3129. The point of impact of the barnes bullets wao about 3/4 inch below the 115 grain ballistic tip. This means to me that the two loads are interchangable out to 250 yards or there about. My groups were not to good today. I shot another rifle first. The recoil from that rifle had me flinching a little or at least had the nerves on edge. The wind was also a cross wind but very gusty going from 15 mph to 25 mph and hard to shoot between gusts. I was shooting 46.0 grains of H414 with the 100 grain X bullets. I will back this off a half grain as the primers were showing some flattening. Not real hot but could back off just a bit and stay around 3100 fps. Right now the X bullets are about 1 1/2 inches hugh at 100 yards. Thats about right. Either load should be ready for deer season. I was shooting a new 280 first. The recoil is not real bad on that but with my bad shoulder its all I want. I chronographed the Federal 140 grain factory loads that I bought with the gun. They were the cheap federals with Sierra 140 grain pro-hunter bullets they averaged 3079 and were quite consistant.
