I purchased my first trail camera and after going over all of the reviews I decided to try the Leaf River IR-5 game camera. I use the camera on public land so the most important feature is infrared flash. I started out using the still photos feature then switched to the video mode and am impressed with the quality of videos with the sound feature. It's great to be able to hear the footsteps in the snow.
This video shows a few bucks in Jan. 2010. A couple of these bucks I didn't see the entire bow season. I hunted this area on Monday Jan. 11th and Wed. Jan. 13. Wouldn't you know it, they were there on Jan. 12th. Without the camera, I never would've known what I missed.
I am really excited about two of the bucks in particular for next season. The 14 pt. appears to only weigh about 140 lbs. I wonder if he is just a 2 1/2 year old! He should be a great buck next season. Also, the buck that has already dropped 1 side. Look at the size of that rack. He will be one I'm looking for next year also. Great camera! I still need to work on the imprinting of the date and time, I thought I had it turned on, but guess not.
