The trouble I've had with S%W may be from the fact that I shoot DA revolvers, DOUBLE ACTION 99% of the time and with the full power loads as I would use for hunting or self-defense. If I want to shoot single action I'll buy a single action revolver. And when I own a gun I shoot it ALOT! Never had a problem with Ruger Security Sixes, GP-100's or Ruger Red Hawks unless it was something a previous owner had messed up, as was the case with my 1st Red Hawk but the gunshop I bought it from immediatly corrected the problem. ALL of the S&W's were mid 80's to early 90's vintage I believe. The 686 was bought in '87, the 627 in '90 I think and the 29 Classic Hunter was bought used but I belive it was introduced in around '89???
