big ed were your s&w'srecent made guns? i have 6 s&w revolvers and have never had any problems. i bought a rem. model 7 stainless , 308 and had shot it in and hunted with. i was cleaning it and did something i should have done when i bought . i look at the bolt sn vs the rec. sn. didnt match. one number off. i contacted rem and they said do not shoot it and send back to the fac. . i did and it took over 2 months to get it back. at the same time they had my chipped stock off my sendero. they did replace it , but it did take a while. the two guns were bought the same day at a going out of bus. sale. i did get a good deal even though i had a lot of trouble there for a while.
