Default RE: What LetOff do You Shoot?

Rob,

I shoot recurves with zero let off and compounds with 65 and 80% let off.
Have a new hunting compound on order with 75% let off so that' s what I checked.
Although I would prefer to enter my deer in Pope & Young if I got a Trophy, I' m not going to let it keep me from shooting what' s comfortable for me.
I prefer a 75 to 80% let off for hunting in case I' m at full draw when my shot is blocked by an obstruction while waiting for the deer to move into the kill zone.
It' s a no brainer to me and I feel that is the reason most other hunters prefer the higher let offs.
Better to deliver a killing shot with a higher let off than to miss or, worse, wound an animal because you got the shakes from holding too much weight at a lower let off.
Of course, there is the argument that you should let down and skip the shot under those circumstances.
But how many guys are actually going to do that, especially, with maybe the buck of a lifetime on the line ?
I can hold 75% let off for several munutes and still make a killing shot but would be shaking a bit too much with 65% imo.
There is a 7lb difference in holding weight between my 65% hunting bow and my due to arrive 75% hunting bow at my 70lb draw weight.
Seven pounds may not seem too much at first thought but it is huge when you' re at full draw for a minute or more.
