I start anytime now. One reason is just to get out. And if there is snow on the ground, even though that may make it tough to find sheds, it helps to find the trails, fence or stream crossings, the thicker cover and so on. Alot of questions that can be answered with snow on the ground. Never know when or where, but I can bet they won't drop next to the couch.
