Where ever the bunny rabbits hole up. I have a little land in the bottoms teaming with coyotes. I live 18 miles away on a mountain and they are very scarce. Plenty of swamp rabbits down in the very thick terrain. Up here where I live there are a few cottontails in the briar patches. Not a whole lot in the pine or oak stands. Also the few I have taken in this area were smaller. The ones in the swamp are about 10-15 lbs heavier.

So where ever there is a steady food supply their numbers will be greater.
