Default RE: Beginning muzzleloading

I bought a CVA Staghorn for under $100 at Wal-Mart a few years back. It wouldn' t have been my ideal choice, but I was low on cash and needed a gun for ML season. I don' t care much for the synthetic stock, but for the price it seemed like the best choice.

The next morning I loaded it and fired one shot to see how the sights were lined up. It hit right where I aimed at 30 yards, so I reloaded and went hunting. Barely 1 1/2 hours later I had a nice 200 pound eight pointer on the ground!

Since then I haven' t shot it since I have tagged out before ML season, but with the limited experience I have with the gun I couldn' t be more happy with it. If price is a concern and he' s looking for an inline, then the Staghorn is a good choice IMO.
