TC say's it's a (Ceramic Coating) Im not sure if it's baked on, painted or what but TC claims it's (Nearly) Impervious to Rust and it's 50X more Corrosion Resistant than Stainless Steel.
I just happened to get a good deal on one a few weeks ago, I have'nt had a chance to really put the Weathershield to the test yet so I cant say one way or the other what will happen down the road with this coating. If the coating does lift off the barrel or get's chipped I think (rust) may develope. My concern is if moisture get's under a chip in the Weathershiled there may be no way to stop the rust that will develope there, if Im wrong someone please comment.
I myself prefer SS Barrels and if TC had put a SS Barrel on the Triumph it would have been a good addition to a great MLer.
Price wise the Triumph seems a little high, if it did come with a SS Barrel than the price would have been justified.
Who know's what TC will offer in the Future with the Triumph, a SS Barrel would be nice but Im sure the price would be higher than most would want to pay.
If you can afford the extra cash and you want a TC a Encore would be my next choice.
