Well I was out Saturday. Morning and evening. That wind was nasty. It was about 17 degreesd with 20 - 30 mph winds. But my Arctic Shield jacket and gloves and polyurethane undies and flannel lined pants and pack boots kept me nice and warm. I din't mind it at all. But now deer seen. I think they were sitting tight in this wind. The few that are around anyway. Seen some tracks. But also coyote tracks.
I often thought of how did the indians and pioneers handle this weather? No poly undies, no thinsulate. Just wool and leather. Bet there was a lot of frostbite.
