I've had an orignal TL since 1993.I used it for years. Some years back TL was sold to another guy and he tried to improve Bob Hice's design. He made a light weight model using a semi rounded extrusion. That thing was death trap. I was just starting to come down from about 25-30 feet when that thing broke loose. It fell probably 3 or 4 feet before it recaught the tree. The stand was all bent up and TL replaced it. I used the replacement once with the same results of not holding the tree. I ended up giving it away.Bob Hice bought TL back before he passed away and he went back to the sq extrusions. I found a GunSlinger climber. I've bought two of them and my old TL hasn't been used in 7 or 8 years now. TL are comfortable but I think the Gunslinger has them beat.
