I think it's more like 90%. I think a good hunter knows where to look for deer, but then luck plays its part if the deer shows up or not. Deer hunting is not hard at all. Even if you kill trophy deer on a fairly regular basis, you still have to be in the right place at the right time. If you hunt an area that holds a lot of big deer, you are eventually going to be in the right place at the right time.
