I guess the word got out that these were great cameras and the company started outsourcing their production and parts to some Chinese company and they started using cheaper parts and cameras in their new models to make a larger profit. Whenever this happened, Bushnell starting using the same cameras in the Trophy Cam that ScoutGuard had in their original cameras. so basically, the Bushnell Trophy Cam is a ScoutGuard550, original model, in a Bushnell case.

Check these websites out. These 2 cameras are not that much different. But overall, sounds like the internal parts in the ScoutGuard got downgraded w/ their new models. Not that big of a change though.
