Default string and arrow questions.

Ok I spent a nice 175 bucks on carbon express maxima hunters with quckspin speed hunter st vanes. I love the vanes. The arrows seem to fly good but my groups where not what they where before. Honestly I think this might have been due to me not shooting like I was due to my shoulder. I do not have a problem with the arrow but need to buy new arrows again.
I found out for some reason my draw length is off. Not sure if It happen when the guy at gander fix my peep or if it was set wrong when I got it and I did not notice, but it is off enough it needs fixed. The guy at gander a few months ago was going to fix it but he said it was off a inch or so and my arrows sit 1/2 inch from the drop away rest I have. So just fixing that will cause me to rebuy arrows.
So I figured I would see if you guys think the carbon express are worth buying again. The issue I have is they seem to break easy. Heck I robin hooded two of my cheapo arrows I was taught on. There still together and the one that did the breaking is fine. I shot one of the carbon express through a garage and it broke with little bending. Shot one into a dirt/sand/little stone hill and it came out broke.
Is this normal or was it just to much for the arrow to take. The garage I can understand but the dirt.

Also The string is about 5 years old and has about 500-700 arrows though it. I am guessing but figuring the 5 days a week shooting 50 arrows a day and it being down for a few years and the last two with shooting 100 arrows for each year I would guess the 500. So I want to replace it. My draw is rather high and the bow is made for the longer strings. So it is going to cost. Which I have no problem with but do not want to buy cheap chuck or over price chunk string. SO what would you recommend?
