I am looking at getting a new rifle. I am going to purchase a new barrel for my Thompson Center Encore. Right now I shoot a Remington .270 which was awesome for deer hunting in NC but now I am living in Alaska for the next 3 years and need something a little bigger. I am not one of these people that feel I need to own the biggest gun made by man, I just want an adequate gun for taking moose, Kodiak grizzly bear and most of all, Dall Sheep. Now, what I am looking for is a gun that can knock down a brick wall at 200-300 yds for the Bears, and a gun that still has knock down power at 400-500 yds for Dall sheep. I was looking at the 7mm but did not know if that was the best. Also, was a little confused because I see a couple different 7mm. (7mm, 7mm-08, 7 mag) Thank you very much for your help.
