If shooting from the ground you definitely have to shoot lower. If you were up in a tree that shot would have probably been OK.
You have to study a Deer's anatomy and bone structure, then continually visualize where everything is at while watching Deer.
That one thing will make you a much more effecient Bowhunter if you become good at it.
