Default RE: Help me with my bowhunting setup.

I' ve heard the minimum KE for whitetail is 50-55lbs
Actually dough boy, for whitetail sized animals it' s recommended to be shooting 40 ftlbs and for elk sized animals a minimum of 50 ftlbs. They are recommendations only and many animals have been taken through the years with much less. More important is shot placement and personal limitations. The bow itself is more than adequate.

Josh Keller, is it your draw length that is limiting your speed with that light arrow...something seems odd to me as well. If you could give us more information such as draw length, poundage, bow makeup...etc.

Your 47 ftlbs is more than adequate for whitetail deer, remember shot placement and limit your distance.
