The deer since changed pattern, because we're talking a few individual deer, but several years ago I was hunting a cutover... for about anything of body size. Could have been a mature doe to younger buck. On my way to the cut-over in the early morning, I would come out of some thick pines into some taller thinned Norway pines. The two formed an obvious terrain feature.

Well, each time I was done hunting this cut-over, a deer or a group of deer, about 3-4 of them would cross right on top of my tracks at the edge of where the two types of pine would come together. In fact, now thinking about it, often.... too often, LOL!, deer would be blowing right when I came out of the thicker smaller pines when I got there too late in the morning. I kept telling myself I'll get up early and hunt this area and ambush these deer.

I never did! Even then I knew when something happens with does one time, it usually repeats itself because they are on a pattern. To this day I wish I would have set up that spot for the ambush, but never did!

Moral of the story?... Don't let deer cross your tracks 5-6 times in the SAME SPOT about the SAME TIME and NOT set a spot there to hunt!

Keep on keeping on. We'll see the post we're waiting from you real quick here!
