Is it legal for a person to buy a gun for a friend for xmas present or birthday gift. I have a good friend who is wanting a rifle. Well a 10/22 i am thinking about getting him it for a xmas/birthday gift as there around the same time. Can i legaly got buy it myself and give it to him. Or would he need to go pick it up and fill out the NCIC check. I am not talking a straw purchase. He has bought three handguns and has a CCP. SO it is not like he can not buy one. I am also not to worried about the thing of it being bought in my name. He is 75 and has never had anything more then a speeding ticket.
