Not sure where at in southern Illinois you are, but I am live in Madison Co and hunt Jefferson Co. My buddy has a farm in Madison and I checked the trail camera today, deer are pounding his cut corn field and there a BUNCH of mid-day pics.

I killed a good 10 on the Friday of our second season, he was chasing a doe. Opening morning, my buddy killed a good 8, he one of 6 bucks chasing a single doe. So the does still have their attention. I plan on heading out this weekend with the smoke pole and I believe I am going to hunt cut corn field out of a ground blind (will allow me to bundle up a bit more than being in a tree stand). As I said before, the does are pounding the cut corn, so if any good bucks are interested, they may make the mistake of stepping out in front of me.
