Sure the 10/22s are a lifetime rifle. Each of my 3 boys have one and I have 2.
And the Henry sure is a dandy!
But when dealing with young, new shooters it is
especially important to keep the biggest emphasis on
safety. And for that reason IMO you stay away from something that will, once the safety is OFF, will fire everytime you pull the trigger until it is empty.
Therefore I do recommend an H&R or a bolt action. IMO you should definately check out the Keystone Cricket.
