Archery season was uneventful with 5 illegal bucks, and no does within shooting distance. 8 weeks go by in archery preparing tag soup, and then comes rifle season. Let my fix that, 2008 season thru Archery 09 preparing tag soup. Got a late start yesterday after what seemed like a monsoon rain event in NEPA. I played cat and mouse with another hunter the entire morning, and knew that he knows this honey hole as good as me. I hiked a half mile in, and seen nothing the first 3 hours. I started to hike out, and made it to 200 yards from my truck. Here comes 2 doe crossing the trail not 20ft in front of me. I had to scope each head checking for bumps, and unleashed the 300winmag.
