The 35 whelen is an -06 based cartridge. 35-06 might be an appropriate nickname. The 35 remington...I picture lever guns. Round nose bullets, slow, shorter range rifle generally speaking. Should have a lot easier time findin' factory loads for a 35 rem, but hopefully you reload, right? Couldn't help you on the 7600 dilemma. Never have taken to pump rifles.
